The Story of The Window on the Hill
A bright and beautiful stained glass window adorns our sanctuary, shining in on us and shining out to the rest of our community. This window has a message – that God’s spirit filled Jesus Christ and he became “the light of the world.” That same spirit and life have come into our lives and our church. It then flows out as a stream, taking life to those in our community and our world. The brilliant circle of light and its rays symbolize Jesus, the Son of God, who said, “I am the light of the world.” He also said we are the light of the world and should not cover our light but let it shine for all to see.
This window is strong, like our church, made of glass of many colors and epoxy, encased in steel, and anchored to this building whose foundation goes deep into the ground. We build our lives on the firm foundation of God’s teachings.
For some of our neighbors it can be difficult to make the food money stretch to the end of the month. The food donations to support Bobbi's Box help provide the lifeline many of our neighbors need.
Our garden is part of Denver Urban Gardens, helping build an ecosystem fir a thriving Denver - plot by plot, neighborhood by neighborhood. It is located in the NE corner of our property next to the parking lot. it is hoped that time spent in the garden can grow not only sustainable food but a sommunnity of diverse people and foster a sense of place that brings peace.
There are two areas at GMUMC where all are welcome to take books or donate books. A library room is near the west entrance with many adult and children's books available. Opposite the Gathering Place is bookshelf with a great variety of choices. No checkout procedures necessary!

The columbarium is intended to be a final resting place for cremains of our church famiy. The columbarium is located in the courtyard between the buildings and is visible from the sanctuary windows. Its benches, landscaping, and fountain provide a peaceful setting for families whose loved ones are interred there, and the columbarium is often also visited by neighborhood wildlife.
We are pleased to have Tiny Hearts Academy rent our dedicated daycare space for their family-owned STEM-Early Learning center for children age 3 mo-6 yr. Tiny Hearts has 4 locations in the Denver Metro area. Visit tinyheartsacademy.com for information.
